It probably would collapse, but it looks so amazing! Something like this would make a great spot for a videogame, I could even imagine a whole story just centered about this huge building.

@egearbox I have used 3ds max for basic render ( shapes blockout, textures and lighting ) and then overpainted everything in photoshop. I also used z-depth and ambient occlusion passes from 3ds max:
- z-depth for atmospheric effects
- ambient occlusion for detail enhancements .

Thank you for appreciating my work!

HNBBTF - yeah, I heard about Caracas Tallest Slum. This is sad but also inspiring in some way. The whole slums and overpopulation topic is one of my favorites.. thank you for reminding me about Tower of David,
best regards,
mac

I just heard a report on NPR about a skyscraper in Caracas Venezuela called the Centro Financiero Confinanzas, the Tower of David, and more recently the Worlds Tallest Slum. Construction on the Tower began in 1990, but the main investor David Brillembourg died and Venezuela was hit by the financial crisis of 1994 construction ground to a halt. The government took control of the building, but never did anything with it leaving it unfinished. Around 2007 due to a housing shortage(that still continues in Venezuela to this day) squatters began moving in to the point of creating what was known as the Worlds Tallest Slum. Occupied up to the Twentieth Floor people used Motor Cycles to climb the stairs. It also had a number of small grocery stores and a dentist. The Venezuelan government recently evicted all the residents so thats why there was an NPR report about it.
